26 Great Nail Art Ideas: Work appropriate nail art

Work appropriate nail art is this week's challenge theme. I'm in the lucky position to be usually able to wear what I want on my nails. Most of the manis I show on the blog, I wore to work. But a couple of times a year I have a meeting where I can't wear blue, purple or green, and that's when I wear something like this.

My base color is Pahlish Slow Like Honey. This polish has a subtle shimmer in green and pink that didn't really want to show in the pictures. The base color is quite interesting, looking a cool toned beige in some lighting, pale mauve or even lavender in other. I used two coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used China Glaze Goldie But Goodie and MoYou London Pro Collection plate 03. As usual, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Pahlish polishes are available on Bigcartel and at Overall Beauty.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - lila

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is purple.

My purple polish is ILNP Purple Plasma, a deep purple (duh) holo. The bottle shot is more color accurate than the mani puctures. I used three coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used aEngland Her Rose Adagio and MoYou Pro Collection plate 12.One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy, Hypnotic Polish and at their own shop.

aEngland polishes are available at various places, you'll find a complete list of retailers here.

Lulu

This is the mani I wore during my easter trip to Strasbourg, France.

My base color is ILNP Lulu, a blurple scattered holo. The polish is a little more on the purple side than my pictures show, the bottle shot is more color accurate. I really love the "starry night sky" look of this one. Three coats provided opacity.

For the stamping I used Kiko Mirror Lacquer 622 (Wisteria) and MoYou London Holy Shapes Collection plate 15. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.

ILNP polishes are available on Etsy, Hypnotic Polish and at their own shop.

Nail Crazies Unite: Pastel Floral

Pastel floral is this week's spring appropriate challenge theme (while I'm writing this blog post, it's snowing outside. Very spring-like indeed...)

I went with a simple skittle, using MoYou London After the Storm, Chill Out, Beach House, Winter Green and Skin Silk as base colors, two coats each. The flowers I stamped using MoYou London White Knight and Flower Power Collection plate 12. As usual, I finished adding one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - mint

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is mint.

I don't have any unworn mint polishes left at the moment, so I chose a polish I haven't worn since december 2012! Not worn for four and a half years is almost unworn, right? ;-)

Smitten Polish Mint Chip has a mint jelly base with deep copper hexes and microglitter that make the polish look like mint chocolate chip ice cream. I used three coats and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top. My bottle is about five years old now and it's still in perfect condition, the polish is not gloopy at all. You can't take that for granted with indie polishes, as I found out...

Smitten Polish doesn't exist anymore under this name. They renamed their brand to Dreamland Lacquer.

Armed & Ready

Armed & Ready is the name of my base polish, and it's by Essie.

Armed & Ready is a deep olive green polish with gold shimmer. I used two medium coats for opacity.

For the stamping I used Barry M. Gold Foil and MoYou London Flower Power Colelction plate 06. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top protected the stamping.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas: pastel to bold gradient with something on top

This week, a gradient was asked by the 26 Great Nail Art Ideas challenge.

I sponged the gradient over a white base (MoYou London White Knight) using Essie Rock The Boat and Bouncer It's Me. For the "on top" part I chose Yes Love F15, a clear based glitter topper with aqua and pink hexes plus small pink holo bar glitters. One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani a smooth finish.

Lacke in Farbe und bunt - bunt

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is multicolored.

For this task, I chose a multichrome holo polish by Enchanted Polish. My bottle lost it's name tag, so I have to guess which one it is, but I'd say it must be Kids. The polish has a subtle holo effect and shifts from teal over blue to a pink leaning purple. I used three coats for opacity (you can also wear one coat over black or another dark base polish).

The flowers I stamped with MoYou London Black Knight and Bundle Monster plate BM-XL217 (in collaboration with Tanya Wish). As ususal, I added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Enchanted Polish are available at Pshiiit and their own shop.
