Lacke in Farbe und bunt - schwarz

Lacke in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is black.

Bad Wolf by Lucky 13 is a Doctor Who themed black jelly polish with silver holographic microglitter. Bad Wolf is very sheer, I used four coats and it still wasn't completely opaque. I probably should have used a creme base under it.

On top of Bad Wolf I stamped using Barry M. Silver Foil and MoYou London Pro Collection XL plate 18 and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Lucky 13 Lacquer are available at their own shop and at Mei Mei's Signatures.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Daddy Daughter Dance by Pretty & Polished is today's polish.

I've seen a lot pf pictures of this polish, or at least one with the same name, and a light blue base. But the base of mine is a milky white, quite sheer and still not completely opaque with three coats. The base is filled with hex and dot glitters in "candy colors", pink, purple, lilac, green and blue. Over three coats of Daddy Daughter Dance, that dried somewhat gritty, I used one coat of Nail Pattern Boldness Glitter Food and one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a smooth finish.

Pretty & Polished are available on Etsy and at their own shop.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: Spring

Spring has begun this week, and it's also this week's challenge theme.

On my thumb, index and pinkie finger, I'm wearing three coats of China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On, a pastel mint green polish with a subtle shimmer.

On my ring and middle finger I applied stamping decals over two coats of Essie Blanc. I made the decals using P2 Eternals as stamping color and Bundle Monster plate BM-XL209. I filled in the flowers using Essie No Shrinking Violet (purple), Blush Stroke (pink) and Muse, Myself (yellow) and OPI Landscape Artist (green). One coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top finished this mani.

Lack in Farbe und bunt - Mint

Lack in Farbe und bunt is a weekly nail polish challenge by Lenas Sofa and Das Jahreszeitenhaus. Each week they have a new color scheme, and this week's color is mint.

My mint polish is Pahlish Drink the Sea. Pahlish descrirbes this polish as Squishy turquoise base with chartreuse microglitter, small seafoam metallic glitter, metallic gold dots, and medium neon green matte hex! In my eyes the base is green with only a hint of blue, so really more mint than turquoise. Somehow the bigger glitters didn't want to come out of the bottle, but as you can see in the bottleshot, they're definitely there. I used three coats of opacity and added one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top for a glossy finish.

Pahlish polishes are available on Bigcartel and at Overall Beauty.

Palm Drop

How about some color shifting flakies for today?

I started with two coats of Manhattan Palm Leaf, a saturated green with blue undertones and a golden shimmer.

On top of Palm Leaf I added one coat of Girly Bits Jaw Drop, a clear based flakie topper. The flakies are translucent and multichrome, shifting from orange over yellow and green to blue. I topped it with one coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top.

Then I added one coat of Picture Polish G'day Matte, a matte topcoat.

Girly Bits polishes are available at her own store, Harlow & Co.Overall Beauty and Mei Mei's Signatures.

40 Great Nail Art Ideas: 3 Shades of Green

Three shades of green is the color scheme of this week's 40 great nail art ideas challenge, and my personal pattern prompt is roses.

I started with a gradient, using Bondi Tavern On The (a blue leaning, almost teal creme) and OPI Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow (a deep, almost black hunter green creme). On top of the gradient I stamped he rose pattern using China Glaze Cherish (a light green metallic) and ÜberChic plate 1-02. On coat of KBShimmer Clearly On Top gave the mani some extra shine.

St. Patrick's Day

I know I'm a day early, but here's my mani for tomorrow's Saint Patrick's Day. I wish all my irish readers (and those who just like Ireland, like I do) a happy holiday tomorrow!

I started with three coats of Zoya Verushka, a matte green polish with a golden shimmer. For the stamping I used Barry M. Gold Foil and Bundle Monster plate BM-H05. No topcoat, to preserve the matte finish.
